Deserving more: analysis of early marriage/ early pregnancy in Rajasthan (2005)

This report is a situation analysis of early marriage and early pregnancy covering two districts i.e., Sawaimadhopur and Jhunjhunju of Rajasthan state. This study gives a picture of the knowledge, attitudes and practices of rural young people and other key stakeholders including parents, panchayat members and service providers. It reflects on key factors contributing to early marriage & early pregnancy, related diverse cultures and practices. This study may form a base for effective intervention models to be used in strategically curbing the prevalent practices of early marriage. The data of this report and the findings would help to understand the problem in Rajasthan and it could also be used as a tool for strengthening such kind of projects and measuring its outcomes not only on state but also at national level
